As we move toward the holidays, we will be suggesting “legal reads” for the month of December. With the US Supreme Court in transition, a great deal of attention will focus there in the new year. So, you might bone up on your knowledge of the Court with either of these insightful books.

The Brethren, by Bob Woodward and Scott Armstrong, is an intricate, behind-the-scenes account of the Supreme Court in action. The Nine, by journalist Jeffrey Toobin, takes us into the Court chambers, revealing the complex dynamic among the nine people who decide the law of the land. Both non-fiction accounts offer excellent insights and analysis.
